The Endurance Project began as a way for me to explore the relationship between two people and their perseverance, with consideration to the effects of time and human condition.
I wanted to incorporate my romance with the analogue world, so I chose to use black and white 35mm film, a typewriter and hand written notes.
I photographed couples, that have been together 50 years or more, in their homes. I asked them to privately write answers to personal questions, so as not to influence each others thoughts and feelings. The responses were very moving; some were beautiful, while others encompassed a feeling of sadness.
Below are some of the results.
